The system uses dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what you'll find in self-driving vehicles — and can scan an area of up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more precise mapping, faster response times, as well as better cleaning accuracy. It also features an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille, which makes it easier to scrub tough areas more effectively as opposed to traditional mop. During my tests the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models, which seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It comes with YIKO, a natural language processing technology that is the first of its kind. This allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you map your house, create cleaning schedules and modify settings. The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch from mopping to vacuuming in one run. The two modes require you attach and take off the mop heads according to the need which is great for most homes, but isn't an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles. The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that produces impressive results. It was able to remove more than 96% debris from our hardwood flooring. This is an excellent performance. It did an excellent job on carpets and tiles cleaning up 99percent of dirt. This robot vacuum and mops comes with large docking systems that allows for automatic cleaning using cool water for the mop pads. It also features an auto-emptying 3L bag that is easy to replace and hot air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also has a large tank of water that allows it to be washed and dried more often between mopping sessions. Like many other mopping robots, the Deebot T10 Omni comes with a wash tray at its base that cleans and dries the mop pads as it uses them. However, it doesn't come with an open tray, which means that dirty water dust, dirt and other grime accumulates in the bottom of the tray over time. 3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid While Anker's Eufy is well known in the field of robot vacuums but this model is its first foray into the world of mopping. It has upgraded smarts, multiple maps support and LIDAR scanning, along with twin-turbine suction technology that adjusts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's appealing even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite come true. The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape, sweeping wheels and an elevated area for sensors. Flip it over, however, and you'll find a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper that carries dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot's mouth. It's a bit smaller than the main brushes on the competing iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to get under sofas and chairs. Its mapping system lets you create no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. It has a habit of bumping into things like its charging station, and isn't the best at navigating over carpets. It did a good job of picking up pet hair from floors that were bare, though, and in our tests it took in 89.5 percent of litter, which puts it ahead of all but the strongest robots we've tested. The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has a set of physical buttons on its base. These buttons let you select the cleaning mode, or turn the robot on/off. You can also use them to set no-go zones and see maps in real-time. It's a bit chatty, too, and will let you know what it plans to do next (“start cleaning”) or warn you that something's not right (it doesn't have enough power to charge, for example). 4. It has a feature set that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes as well as an automatic docking station and real-time obstacles avoidance technology. The Wi-Fi enabled device can be controlled via the Neato App where cleaning schedules are set and maintenance requirements are monitored. It was able to pick up everything from a single rice grain to several dog food pieces, with just one pass. It had a bit of difficulties transitioning to rugs but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms with different flooring types and a variety of pets. It is a bit pricey however, if you are able to manage the price, it's an excellent buy for those who want to leave their home hands-free to go about other tasks or to take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to get rid of difficult dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot. This budget-friendly choice from a well-known upstart brand is the most affordable robot we've tested yet and offers an incredible value for money. Its basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not equipped to map rooms. This is why it's less effective as other models on this list. It's still able get under furniture and into corners. And its mopping mode was very effective in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris. 5. Shark iQ Shark's iQ isn't as robust as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles and floor surfaces that are bare. It also uses the smart-pathing software for better mobility. It can be directed to a specific area, and includes a variety of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It also allows you to suspend and resume cleaning sessions, making it perfect for homes with pets. The self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent knots from pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying docking station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be cleaned. It also comes with an assortment of angled side brushes that go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system can capture dust, dander and allergens for cleaner air. The iQ robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It works with an app on your smartphone which lets you alter the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app lets you view the remaining battery life of the iQ and also receive push notifications when it encounters any issues during the cleaning session. You can control it using your voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area by using physical boundary markers. The iQ does a good job of removing bare floors and doing a fair job with shaggy and low-pile carpet however, it doesn't have the same degree of autonomy as our top picks. It's also expensive and its ongoing expenses can add up over time.
